JPA is currently searching for an Account Executive to join our collaborative and team-oriented environment in the D.C. office. The ideal candidate for the position will have PR agency or comparable experience supporting federal health communication projects, a strong work ethic, be a dependable team member, and be able to work well with a large, interdisciplinary team.
The successful candidate for this role is a detail-oriented, organized, and flexible communicator with interest working on health and social marketing campaigns for federal health agencies.
Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day account work on federal health communication projects across a range of tasks, including formative research, product/materials development, dissemination, earned media, partner outreach/engagement, and evaluation.
- Own tasks and assignments outright and work as part of a team to advance client projects and activities.
- Originate high-quality written content and materials for a wide range of digital and print channels (e.g., webpages, talking points, fact sheets, social media content, presentations, etc.).
- Collaborate with JPA’s in-house creative and production team to develop messages, creative concepts, and other communications products.
- Work with JPA’s research team to support primary and secondary research and help synthesize/apply findings to communication campaigns and products.
- Support partnerships on behalf of clients/projects, including managing partner outreach, preparing partner briefing materials, and developing partner-specific communications products.
- Support business development efforts, including proposal writing and coordination.
- Contribute to agency-wide initiatives with senior team members at JPA.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with at least 2 years of communications experience.
- Experience working within a team to support health communications and social marketing projects.
- Experience originating communications materials for client review.
- Knowledge and interest in public health; experience with mental health, suicide prevention, substance use, and women’s health issues a plus.
- Proven experience taking initiative, managing multiple tasks, and working both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated experience understanding complex health topics and synthesizing information for notes, action items, and applied findings.
- Proven writing and communication skills across a variety of formats.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail, flexibility, and professional manner.
- Experience working with projects supporting federal health agencies such as CDC, FDA, NIH, HRSA and/or SAMHSA a plus.
- Agency experience preferred.
