JPA Health is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President to lead and manage the agency’s Public Health clients. The ideal candidate for this is adept at managing the client relationship, overseeing execution and driving strategy development.  Success in this role requires a sense of comfort with ambiguity, creative problem-solving skills, accountability to manage programs successfully through launch and beyond, plus exceptional communication skills to manage and grow client relationships.

This position is a hybrid role reporting to any of our JPA offices.   

Responsibilities

  • Lead account teams and direct day-to-day account work and projects across JPA’s Public Health portfolio (including nonprofits, foundations, associations, health systems), which may include: brief development, project planning, developing and reviewing client content, client relationship management, financial management and overall account best practices 
  • Manage all facets of account work, ensuring the right specialists are engaged in the right work for your clients
  • Provide strategic counsel to advance client objectives; keep senior leadership informed and bring them in when necessary
  • Lead the creation and execution of comprehensive communication strategies and programs on behalf of public health clients
  • Manage and mentor staff in an environment of support and growth 
  • Oversee client budgets and budget tracking
  • Support new business efforts, including leading research, strategy development and proposal writing, attending new business pitches, and nurturing organic growth opportunities 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree.  
  • Minimum 8 years of agency account management experience in healthcare marketing. 
  • Prior agency experience preferred 
  • Proven track record managing integrated communications and marketing campaigns reaching public health audiences and professionals as well as the general public   
  • Health communications experience (professional association, nonprofit, public affairs experience a plus) 
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, flexibility, and professional manner 
  • Ability to take initiative, manage multiple tasks, and work both independently and as a team  
  • Understanding of public health, health equity, and the changing healthcare environment  
  • Detail-oriented, proven critical thinking, and a passion for public health communications
