WASHINGTON, May 13, 2015 – Twenty public relations delegates from across the globe gathered together to discuss trends and best practices at the International Public Relations Network (IPRN) Annual General Meeting. Comprised of leading independent public relations firms, IPRN provides its members with access to international experience, case studies, resources and local knowledge through its network of more than 1,000 communication specialists.

Each year as part of the Annual General Meeting, the IPRN membership selects a Project of the Year to honor the best public relations campaigns conducted by its members. The 2015 Ellis Kopel Project of the Year was awarded to Nexus Communications from Great Britain for its work on behalf of the UK Potato Council’s National Chip Week.

The conference drew impressive speakers from the field, including Jennifer Golbeck, director of the Human-Computer Interaction Lab, University of Maryland; Kathy Cripps, president of the PR Council; and Bob Zeni, an expert on infographics and visual storytelling, as well as Gene Policinski, chief operating officer of the Newseum Institute and of the Institute’s First Amendment Center.

“JPA was honored to host this year’s Annual General Meeting,” said Carrie Jones, principal and managing director of JPA Health, and 2015 IPRN Chair. “This conference is an incredible opportunity to share insights with our global colleagues and connect with the sharpest minds in the profession. Hosting the conference in Washington gave us a chance to showcase the history and beauty of America’s capital city to our international guests.”

Next year the Annual General Meeting will be held in Bordeaux, France. To learn more about IPRN and its members in North and South America, Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and the Far East, visit iprn.com.
